Volotome is an audiobook player for iPhone and Apple Watch, made by me. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it.
Volotome does not collect any data. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. The app itself never sends your audiobooks, listening data or anything else over the internet. Everything stays on your devices.
The audiobooks you add, their covers and your listening positions are stored only on your devices, inside Volotome. They are not included in iCloud backups.
When you choose a cover from your photos, Volotome receives only the photo you pick and cannot see the rest of your library. It saves a cropped, resized copy as that book’s cover, plus a smaller copy for the Apple Watch. Location and other photo metadata are not kept. These copies stay inside Volotome on your devices, are used only to show the cover, and are deleted when you change the cover or remove the book.
Volotome can count how long and when you listen so the Statistics tab can show fun facts about your usage. This information is stored only on your devices and is never sent to me or anyone else.
You can turn statistics off in Settings at any time, which permanently deletes them. If you export your listening data, the file goes only where you choose to save or send it.
If you use Volotome on Apple Watch, your library, listening positions, covers, audiobooks you choose to store on the watch, and listening statistics are sent directly between your iPhone and your paired Apple Watch by iOS and watchOS. None of it passes through any server of mine.
If you have enabled “Share with App Developers” in your device settings, Apple may share aggregated diagnostic and usage data with me, such as crash reports. This is collected and handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy, not by Volotome, and you can disable it in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
If you contact me, I receive your email address and whatever you write. I use it only to reply to you. I never share it, and delete it once it’s no longer needed.
Volotome does not collect information from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
